Not only are Victoria Peak dog beds cheaper to own over the long haul than the throwaway Brand Xs, they're wayyy more comfortable than anything else, name brands included. Obviously, comfort is a function of the cushion. More stuffing equals greater comfort and this is where Victoria Peak dog beds really blow the doors off the competition. The 26" round bed (and the cotton muslin tick inside, equipped with its own 15" zipper so you can adjust the firmness or add fragrance) has a four inch gusset (boxed sides) allowing for 3 lbs. of siliconized polyester fiber in each bed. The 38 and 42" round beds and the
26x36 and the 32x42" rectangles feature five inch gussets allowing for 6, 8,
5 and 7 lbs. of fiber, respectively. And the 48 and 56" round beds and the
38x48 and the 46x56" rectangles have six inch gussets allowing for 11, 16 10 and 14 lbs. of slicked poly fiber stuffing, respectively. The beds are so 'overstuffed' that once they're compressed (under vacuum) to get them small enough to ship, they require custom manufactured, double walled shipping boxes to withstand the pressure.
